Week 29!

Seeing who's belly is bigger...

It's sunny! Oh joy, the rain has stopped. This also means I'm wearing fewer clothes and now everyone thinks my belly is growing inches each day (it kinda feels like it too).

Roasty is now the size of a butternut squash. His head or foot or some hard body part is poking my left rib. It's fine when I'm standing up, but I can't lie on my left side.

The exciting news is that TONS of our friends and family are also expecting! It seems like every day we get another excited phone call. This means more family-friendly events and of course lots of cousins for Roasty to grow up with! Please, let some of you be having boys...

Leighton has been trying to take me on walks, but when he rides to the construction site, works all day, and then rides home, he often doesn't have the energy. I'm still riding my bike to work, so I'm counting that as my daily exercise. I've done a couple pre-natal yoga sessions, but the class times are proving quite inconvenient for my schedule. I also played volleyball this weekend. I wasn't planning on it, but we were short players. It was a ton of fun. Roasty didn't complain one bit.

I still have chicken legs and somehow they look so funny with a big round belly on top.

Charity was very concerned about me diving for a ball (don't worry, I didn't). With my pregnant help, we won both matches!

Week 28

I'm finally getting bigger, which means rolling out of bed, grunting when I tie my shoes and my new favorite teaching tool is my roley chair.

Little man is moving all the time. Leighton has been able to feel him many times (he always wiggles at the sound of Leighton's voice). We hope he's practicing his volleyball moves in there.

Along with the joy of what is to come, this week has brought heartburn, hemorrhoids, and Leighton's favorite--the stinkiest farts known to man (and that's saying a lot considering we live with my brother). But it's not all suffering; I'm loving my newly increased appetite. Eating for two is so much fun! I'm happy to report that Roasty* enjoys my favorite foods--ice cream and chocolate. He's a good boy.

*Roasty is the name bestowed upon our baby by the Hillegass House family. We were discussing his probable skin tone and decided that he would be just like Froy's cooking--a little Roasty Toasty.
